I just noticed that I haven't posed a review since March 17 though I have read quite a few books. For some, I just wasn't feeling it. For others, I couldn't figure out how to start, what approach to take. For the rest, laziness set in.
Here's what I read between then and now. I've put a * by books I'd like to review.
*The Trial of Cecil John Rhodes by Adekeye Adebajo, 2021. Rhodes wakes up in the afterlife and finds that he will stand trial for his genocidal crimes against the African peoples.
Night Boat to Tangier by Kevin Barry, 2019.
*Mermaid Fillet, Mia Ardevne, 2020. Part crime story, part fable, set in Cape Town, South Africa.
Your House Will Pay by Steph Cha, 2019.
*The Rabbit Hole by Mike Nicol, 2021. Political/government corruption suspense thriller featuring series characters Fish Pescado and Vicki Kahn
*Who is Maud Dixon by Alexandra Andrews, 2021. after being fired from he job at a publishers, a young woman takes the position of assistant to a never seen author who is only known as Maud Dixon.
*The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman, 2020, Group of people in a retirement community meet to solve cold cases but then a real murder happens on their doorstep.

Girl A by Abigail Dean, 2021.
You Love Me by Caroline Kapness, 2021.
One Got Away by S.A.Lelchak, 2021.
*Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, 2021. From the author of The Martian. Now the survival of the entire word is at stake.
*Waltz into Darkness by Cornell Woolrich, 1947. Noir story of a man whose life is destroyed by love. Set in the 1880 in the deep south.

Hopefully, you'll get around to reviewing The Thursday Murder Club. It's mere curiosity on my part. Are you in the For or Against camp?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I will review it. I am in the "for camp". It's a fun read. Possibly part of my appreciation is due to myself being of a certain age. 😄 I hope a sequel is on the way.
